Sell on EMI and know exactly what the financier owes you
Take the down payment at the till, record the financier’s deal on the bill, and follow every payout to your bank — with no-cost EMI subvention and fees booked where your accountant expects them.
Built into Orbit billing
Everything an EMI sale needs, from bill to payout
No separate finance module. Switch EMI on and it appears at checkout and in the menu.
Your shop’s switch, any trade
Settings → Invoice & Billing → EMI sales. On by default for electronics, mobile, appliance, battery and furniture shops; a boutique selling a bridal lehenga or a footwear store can switch it on too.
EMI as a payment mode at the till
Choose EMI at checkout, pick the financier — Bajaj Finserv, HDB, HDFC Bank, IDFC FIRST, TVS Credit, Home Credit or any name you type — and enter the loan reference, scheme and tenure.
Down payment collected now
The customer’s down payment is taken in cash, UPI or card on the same bill. The financed part waits for the financier, not on the customer’s account.
No-cost EMI, accounted properly
Record the subvention the financier keeps back and its processing fee. Orbit expects the net amount, and books the deductions as a finance cost, so the true margin of an EMI sale is visible.
Owed money is not bank money
What the financier owes sits in Finance Receivable until it arrives — never in Bank — so your bank book and the BRS stay honest.
Settle payouts, short or over
When the financier pays, settle the deal with its reference. A short payment becomes a further finance cost and an over-payment reduces it, automatically.
Withdrawn deals unwound in order
If the financier withdraws, cancel the bill first — the unit and its serial go back to stock — then cancel the deal and the receivable comes off the books.
Bank offers set by the owner
In electronics, mobile and appliance shops, instant card discounts are configured by the owner and applied by the billing engine, so the till cannot invent a discount by claiming a card.
On the phone app too
The same switch and EMI tender on the Orbit phone app, so a floor salesperson can close an EMI sale beside the product.

EMI billing, set up for your trade
Your licence names your trade, and Orbit brings its fields — IMEI and serials for phones, warranty for appliances, size and colour for clothing.
Retailers ask us about EMI billing
Does Orbit approve EMI loans or connect to the financier?
No. Approval still happens on the financier’s app or EDC terminal. Orbit records the deal on your bill, accounts for it correctly and tracks the payout — there is no lender integration and no customer data is sent to a financier.
Which finance companies can I use?
Any. Orbit suggests the common ones — Bajaj Finserv, HDB Financial Services, HDFC Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank, TVS Credit and Home Credit, plus Kotak and Samsung Finance+ for electronics — and you can type any other name.
Can a clothing, footwear or jewellery shop sell on EMI?
Yes. EMI is a switch for any shop that sells goods. It is on by default for durables trades and off for others until the owner turns it on. Restaurants, food counters and hotels are not offered it.
How is a no-cost EMI shown in my accounts?
The subvention and processing fee you give up are recorded on the deal and booked as a finance cost. The financier’s receivable is the net amount, so your profit on the sale is the real one.
What happens to open deals if I switch EMI off?
New EMI bills stop, but deals already on the books can still be settled or cancelled under EMI & Finance until the financier has paid.
Do I need a separate module or licence?
No. EMI sales are part of Orbit’s billing on the offline desktop, the cloud version and the phone app.
