Common questions from hotel owners in India.
Can a restaurant bill be charged to a guest's room?
Yes. On the restaurant till the bill has a "To room" button: pick the room, and the bill is saved against that guest's folio instead of being paid at the table. It appears on the folio immediately and is settled at check-out. Rooms marked "no charges", and rooms over their credit limit, are refused.
Does it keep the guest register and ID details the police ask for?
Yes. Each guest's name, age, address, ID type and number, where they came from and where they are going are recorded on the registration card at check-in. The guest register prints for any date range. Aadhaar numbers are checked and then stored masked, and every viewing of a guest's ID is logged.
How is GST handled on room rent?
The room tariff slab is applied automatically from the nightly rate, and the invoice shows the tax with the correct SAC code. Rates can be quoted plus taxes or inclusive of tax, as you prefer.
Does it work with online travel agents like MakeMyTrip or Booking.com?
OTA and travel-agent bookings are entered with the channel name, the agent's booking reference and the commission, and reported by source. Automatic two-way sync with OTA inventory (a channel manager) is not included.
Can I send bills and offers to my customers on WhatsApp?
Yes, with the WhatsApp add-on. Bills go to the customer's WhatsApp as a PDF from the sale screen, and WhatsApp Offers sends a campaign — with a flyer Orbit designs from your logo and offer — to the customers who agreed to receive offers. Discounts, buy-one-get-one, coupons, gift vouchers, loyalty points and birthday offers are part of every shop licence.
Does Talvera Orbit work without an internet connection?
Yes. The Windows desktop app stores all your hotel billing data locally in an SQLite database on your own PC, so billing, inventory, and reports keep working with no internet at all.

Can I run more than one billing counter?
Yes. Talvera Orbit runs up to 10 billing counters on a single local network — a Windows desktop as the master counter plus up to 9 more Windows PCs as counters. All counters share stock, customers, and sales data in real time. A multi-counter licence is required to run more than one counter.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is quoted per business rather than published as a fixed list price, because it depends on your shop type, how many billing counters you run, and whether you need Cloud POS across branches. Contact us for a written quote for your hotel.
