Production Software for Pharma & Nutraceutical Manufacturers
A batch formula, raw material issued by batch, a lot and expiry on every receipt of finished goods, and an inspection recorded at incoming, in-process and final stages — with rejected material actually moved out of stock, not just marked.

What costs a pharma & nutraceutical manufacturer money
And what Orbit does about it.
Rejected Material Stays on the Shelf
A lot fails inspection and still shows as available stock. In Orbit a disposition moves something: scrap is written off, and a return to the vendor raises the purchase return.
Expiry Is Tracked on Purchases Only
What you bought has a batch; what you made does not. Every production receipt creates a lot with an expiry worked out from the product’s shelf life.
Inspection Lives on Paper
Specifications are in a file and results on a sheet. Inspection plans hold the characteristics and limits per item and stage, and each result is recorded against the specification as it stood that day.

Pharma & Nutraceutical Manufacturer software — FAQs
What manufacturers ask us first.
Does it trace a finished batch back to the job that made it?
Each receipt of finished goods creates its own lot, numbered from the job and the receipt, with its own cost and expiry. So a finished lot leads back to the job, and the job to the material issued to it. Raw material is received and issued by batch as well.
What happens when a lot fails inspection?
A failed inspection raises a non-conformance report automatically. The disposition you choose is carried through: scrap goes out of stock and is written off, a return to vendor raises the purchase return against that goods receipt line, and rework links the report to the job that fixes it. A blank reading counts as a fail, so an empty form cannot pass material.
Is this a validated GMP or Schedule M system?
No, and we would rather say so here. Orbit is production, inventory, quality-inspection and accounting software. It does not produce an electronic batch manufacturing record with regulated electronic signatures, and it is not offered as a validated system. Manufacturers use it for stock, production, costing and GST alongside their own quality documentation.
Can I manage loan-licence or third-party manufacturing?
Sending your material out to be processed is handled as job work: a challan out, a receipt back with what was returned, rejected and consumed, the processor’s charge and its tax, and the return-by clock. Taking in other companies’ material to process for them — holding stock you do not own — is not built.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Orbit is a Windows desktop app that keeps your pharma & nutraceutical manufacturer data in a database on your own PC, so bills of material, work orders, stock, invoicing and reports keep working with no internet at all. A second PC in the office or on the floor connects to the first over your own network.
Does it generate e-invoices and e-way bills?
Orbit raises the GST tax invoice and records the IRN and e-way bill number against it, and it produces the GST registers, GSTR-2B reconciliation and ITC-04 figures. Generating an IRN or an e-way bill from inside the app, and filing returns, are not built — those are done on the government portal or through your CA.
Is there a free trial for manufacturers?
Yes — a 14-day trial of the full manufacturer app on one Windows PC, no credit card needed. Or book a demo and we will walk through it with one of your own products, from its bill of material to a costed job.
How is it priced?
Manufacturing is quoted per business rather than sold off a price list, because it depends on how many users and computers you run. Book a demo and we will send a written quote for your pharma & nutraceutical manufacturer.
Can I keep using it for billing and accounts?
Yes. A manufacturer licence is everything a shop licence has — GST invoicing, purchases, stock, customers, the full books with trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet, and Tally export — with the production modules added on top.
