Software for Stationery & Book Distributors
School season is two months of the year's orders. Orbit takes them as orders, picks and packs them, invoices them at each dealer's rate — and then chases what is still owed, bill by bill.

What slows a stationery & books distributor down
And what Orbit does about it.
The Season Rush
Hundreds of dealer orders land in the same weeks. Orders flow to a pick-and-pack worklist and on to invoices without being keyed twice.
Thousands of Small SKUs
Titles, grades and pack sizes run to thousands of items. The item master pages through large catalogues without freezing.
Returns After the Season
Unsold stock comes back in June. Sales returns raise credit notes on the dealer ledger and put stock back where it belongs.

Stationery & Books Distributor software — FAQs
What stationery & books distributors ask us first.
Can it handle the school-season order rush?
Yes. Dealer orders are entered or received as orders, collected on a pick-and-pack worklist, and invoiced from there, so the rush is worked through a queue rather than a pile of paper.
How are post-season returns handled?
A sales return raises a credit note on the dealer's ledger and returns the stock to inventory, so both sides of the account stay right.
Can it cope with a very large catalogue?
Yes. Item lists and price lists page through the catalogue in the database rather than loading it whole, which is what keeps them fast on tens of thousands of items.
Can I give schools or large dealers special rates?
Yes. Put them in their own dealer category with its own price list, and the rate is applied automatically.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Orbit is a Windows desktop app that keeps your stationery & books distributor data in a database on your own PC, so invoicing, stock, dealer ledgers and reports keep working with no internet at all. Trading-partner documents queue up and go out when the connection returns.
Is there a free trial for distributors?
Yes — a 14-day trial of the full distributor app on one Windows PC, no credit card needed. Or book a demo and we will walk through it with your own dealers and products.
How is it priced?
Distribution is quoted per business rather than sold off a price list, because it depends on how many users, warehouses and branches you run. Book a demo and we will send a written quote for your stationery & books distributor business.
Can I sell to retailers who do not use Orbit?
Of course. Every dealer gets a normal GST invoice, printed or shared as a PDF. Retailers who do run Orbit can also link with you, so their orders arrive on your screen and your invoices land in their purchase entry.
